Professional Background

I was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Kent and Canterbury University Hospital in October 2016, to support the provision of an acute general urology and stone service but more specifically to set up a comprehensive superficial bladder cancer service. My specialist urological training was on the highly regarded Panagia Hospital in Greece where I gained extensive experience in all aspects of general adult urology. After I completed my higher surgical training in urology I specialized at a high volume stone leading University hospitals in the London region and Brighton University Hospital in the surgical treatment of urinary tract stones and endoscopic management of benign and malignant urological diseases. I was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training in 2011 and entered onto the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council. My private practice is based in the Chaucer Hospital Canterbury, One Ashford Healthcare, Spencer Ashford and Margate

My clinical practice encompasses the investigation, diagnosis and management of a number of benign and cancerous urological disorders including: haematuria (blood in the urine), urinary tract infections (UTI's), kidney stones, enlarged prostate (BPH), inguinal and scrotal surgery including vasectomy, overactive bladder syndrome, raised PSA blood test, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, and testis cancer.

I strongly support teaching, specifically in the field of Urology I enjoy teaching and training and currently have two registrars whom I am training up towards consultant level. I am teaching medical students and Urology trainees in clinical areas and theatres focusing on basic diagnostic principles in urology, urological surgical procedures, imaging in urology, overview of urological cancers, lower urinary tract symptoms and benign prostate hyperplasia management

Audit of one's practice is a compulsory part of a doctors working life. My work is regularly reviewed through a monthly clinical governance process. I actively participate in local clinical audits in my department aiming to allow quality improvement to take place and improve outcomes for patients
